I had an interesting experience today. My new headphones have just arrived and, having them unpacked and connected to my PowerBook, I settled down to enjoy the experience of my favorite tunes in high quality. I reached for a mug of tea to make my indulgence complete and… I spilled about half of it all over the table and onto my bellowed PowerBook.
Now, normally, in the past when I damaged something I value and like out of my own clumsiness I exploded with helpless rage. Not this time, I saw, felt, the anger rise, then just loose energy and disperse. I quietly turned off my PB, cleaned the keyboard, then poured out some tea that got deeper into it through one of the case’s edges. Next, I proceeded to wipe off the whole table and clean the laptop.
I still wonder whether it is was practice kicking in? It was a very interesting moment, I must say.
Oh, and the laptop works. Even the CD/DVD player works though I haven’t yet checked whether the function of disc burning works. But I think no liquid got into it – and it seems that someone at Apple has thought of the possibility of user spilling something onto the keyboard.
